Dpstar is a professional temperature sensor supplier in Malaysia. We provide a wide range of sanitary probes & solutions for process measuring & control for dairy, F&B & life sciences industries. They are perfect for easy handling, quick use temperature measurement. This wide array of sensors will keep your sanitary liquid processes clean and running smoothly.

This Pt100 RTD sensor is designed for use in sanitary or Clean-In-Place (CIP) applications where the use of a thermowell assembly is preferred over direct immersion sensors. The thermowell includes a 1½”, 16AMP cap feature for easy installation using industry-standard gaskets and clamps. The spring-loaded RTD probe can be removed from the thermowell without exposing the system to ambient conditions for calibration or replacement. This sensor includes a 4-Pin, M12 Connector for easy installation using an extension cable.

The MRS-TW-M12 Series RTD probes are spring-loaded into a sanitary thermowell, with a 1⁄2 x 1⁄2 NPT fitting for easy removal. These probes feature a 4-wire Pt100 Class A element (100 ±0.06 Ω at 0°C) that is compatible with 3-wire RTD instrumentation.

These sensors are supplied standard as 4-wire assemblies with 4-pin connectors. When used in 3-wire applications, use pins A, B, and C as shown in the wiring detail below. When used in 2-wire systems, connect one wire to pins A or B, and the other wire to pins C or D as shown below.

Please consult sales for available options, including element types and curves, probe lengths, and sanitary fitting styles.

How Thermocouple Probe Works?

Thermocouple probes operate on the principle that an electromagnetic force (emf) is generated when heat is applied to the junction of two dissimilar metals (sending junctions). At the other end of the wires, usually, as part of the input instrument, is another junction called the reference junction. The temperature is inferred based on the emf difference between the sensing and the reference junction, which is at a known temperature. Thermocouple probe junction types include exposed junction, ungrounded junction, and grounded junction.

Thermocouple Probe Junction Types

Sheaths with small diameters have faster response times; sheaths with larger diameters have longer life and are better for measuring higher temperatures.

Exposed Junction has the fastest response time, ideal for measuring rapid temperature changes. Clear coating on most models provides a humidity barrier for the thermocouple. Do not use with corrosive fluids or atmospheres.

Ungrounded Junction has a welded junction insulated from the protective sheath and is electrically isolated. Longer response time; use for conductive solutions or where isolation of the measuring circuitry is required.

Grounded Junction has a junction welded to tip of sheath. Wires are completely sealed from contaminants. Good response time.
